Memorial Day alternatives to flowers for grave decorations part 3

Back again with an update on the less-wasteful Memorial Day decorations.

Two windblown women
First of all, would you believe that these little ones survived for three years in the Oklahoma weather?  Connie and found them when we showed up with our latest alternative to fake flowers and plastic waste.

They're tiny survivors, each maybe the size of a match head. I kept these and Connie kept the one that had three times as many little survivors. I've replanted mine in what I hope will be a more hospitable setting.

So what was this year's eco-friendly, planet saving grave decoration? A mix of native plant cuttings. We came up with wheat stalks, some dried grasses and some reeds or cattails. Plus a few twigs. Basically, anything tall, attractive and rustic. Tied with twine. (Of course it's recycled twine: it came on a shipment and I saved it.) Held in place with gravel that Connie already had from another project.

For graves without urns, we just put the arrangement at the base, held with a wire (also recycled of course).

You could do something similar with whatever plants are native or available in your area.
