Strips of pink gold feathered onto the blue

As I wake, what I dreamed were the cries of children turn into the yelps of coyotes moving through the field.

    Funny how your brain imaginatively integrates sounds into dreams. I've had similar experiences with other sounds. And we have coyotes here in Connecticut, too, believe it or not. :)
